Academic Services Day

Today I completed 4 reviews for the 1st International Conference on Logistics, Informatics and Service Science (LISS 2011) and 3 reviews for the 13th International Conference on Enterprise Information Systems (ICEIS 2011) as a member of the International Program Committee of both conferences. Long story short: LISS is a new conference with shockingly low-quality submissions as far as I can tell, unfortunately, whereas the papers I reviewed for ICEIS 2011 were remarkably good this year. Hopefully LISS 2011 will follow ICEIS's incremental quality improvements...

UPDATE: I forgot to mention that I also reviewed a paper for the prestigious Requirements Engineering (RE11) conference. This one was mindbogglingly boring but it still took my a few hours before I could tell why... Now, back to reviewing a bunch of MSc thesis-derived papers ;-)
