It can be done! Finally, a bachelor student who graduates within the allotted timeframe with a high-quality research: With Towards improved music recommendation: Using blogs and micro-blogs, Remco Snijders has received a well-deserved 9 for his refreshing scientific contribution which combines social media with music recommendation. Here's the abstract of the scientific paper:

With the rise of social media, new approaches in music recommendation evolve. Blogs and micro-blogs provide a big opportunity for MIR and recommendation. The current study investigates how blogs and micro-blogs can improve the perceived quality of music recommendation. Data is retrieved from a literature review and the opinions of experts and (potential) users of music recommendation systems. Subsequently, a prototype is built and tested in a user-evaluation. We show that (micro-) blogs can create trust, build personalization and exploit the quality of music in the long tail.
