The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) programme of the Dutch Ministry of Health Welfare and Sport granted Spru.IT € 50,000 for an in-depth analysis regarding the feasibility of our envisoned Prescribing Optimalisation Method Platform (POMP), which outlines our vision to further contribute to more efficient and effective geriatric care through integration of state-of-the-art information and communication technology (ICT). Besides coordinator Spru.IT, the UU Department of Information and Computing Sciences, the Pharmacy and Geriatrics divisions of UMC Utrecht, the Julius Center for Health Sciences and Primary Care, and the Stadsmaatschap Huisartsen Utrecht also take part in this Health Informatics consortium to achieve our common objectives. This first feasibility analysis phase will examine the many risks and threats which have to be properly addressed before the actual development and deployment phases of the POMP can be executed as planned.
